1. Can you remember where you had your first glass of wine?

Plenty of sips at the family dinner table but the first that made me sit up and take real notice was Billecart-Salmon rosé champagne during a wine tasting at Vivat Bacchus a University boyfriend had taken me to. 

2. Favourite place to wine and let your hair down?

The Groucho Club in Soho - my home from home! I've been a member for a long time, and celebrated so many major life moments there but it's the unexpected encounters and spontaneous wild evenings that really make it - if those walls could talk... well... we're all very glad they don't! 

3. Best glass you ever had, where, with who? 

Impossible! But the first that popped to mind is when my brother, my now ex-husband and I had headed home after a lovely long afternoon drinking red wine at The Wine Tasting Shop in Balham. We ordered properly dirty, cheesy pepperoni pizzas and my ex (not a wine-lover!) pulled something "random" from the fridge. Even after all the red wine and pepperoni, as soon as I tasted it I knew it wasn't the average bottle in there....and turned out to be the most expensive we had. A Pol Roger 2002, gifted to us on our engagement that I had been saving. We laughed and enjoyed it. A reminder not to always wait for the "perfect time" for a special bottle! Besides, champagne and pizza are two of my favourite things! 

4. Favourite food & wine pairing?

Chateau d'Yquem 2019 and fried chicken. Fried chicken is always a winner but the youthful sweet wine with the salty succulent chicken... sublime. 

5. If you were a bottle of wine, which would you be?

A versatile, delicious, full-bodied Chardonnay.
